Prior to teaching aquatic survival, I was the Director of Finance and Accounting for a small family-owned company in Baton Rouge. My undergraduate studies were in Communications (Advertising) and Spanish. I have an MBA from Loyola University.
I became an ISR instructor after a friend sent me a video ad for ISR. That video changed my life. At that moment, I knew what I was called to do. I sent the video to my friends and family to garner support for my new found career choice. I did research to see if there were any similar programs in my area. I quickly learned that ISR was the only program that focused on survival techniques and saving children’s lives. I was shocked to learn that there were no ISR certified instructors in my area.
I am excited to have found a career that has brought me enjoyment and satisfaction. I became an ISR instructor because I adore children and do not want to ever hear a report of a child drowning knowing I could have done something to stop such a tragedy. My love for children and my love for water have drawn me closer to both. I am a NAUI certified diver and spend time every year exploring different dive locations.
